Emergencies
Any hour, any day — nights, Sundays and holidays. Call on the way and we'll be ready when you arrive.
A veterinary hospital that never closes: emergencies, consultations, hospitalisation and surgery — every day of the year, Sundays and holidays included.

Every row, every hour
Read it like a ward chart: each row is a service, each column an hour. The filled cells are when you can count on it.
Any hour, any day — nights, Sundays and holidays. Call on the way and we'll be ready when you arrive.
Dogs, cats, rabbits and exotics. We take the time to explain what we see and what comes next.
Overnight stays with monitoring by the hour. You can phone during the night and we'll tell you how they are.
Planned and urgent surgery, with the recovery followed here until they go home.
Samples collected and analysed in-house, so answers come fast — even at night.
Getting back on their feet after an injury or surgery, one session at a time.
A bath and a tidy-up from people your pet already knows.
Food and accessories at the counter, with advice on what suits your pet.
Daytime services: call to book a time.
Night shift
Seven days, twenty-four hours. When other clinics send you away, we pick up the phone.

PATIENT: YOURS
O bem estar da sua Mascote
On the Cortes side of Leiria, in Moinho Novo, there is a door that does not close. Our motto on Facebook says the well-being of your pet matters most every day — and we mean it literally: nights, Sundays, Christmas.
Owners tell us what they value: that we explain everything, that we answer the phone when a pet stays overnight, and that the costs are told up front. Vets, nurses and assistants take turns so someone is always here, and English is spoken.

Initials on the chart
The names owners mention most. Plus the nurses and assistants who cover every shift.
No photos: initials only, as on the chart.
No surprises on the bill
Every case is different, so we don't publish a price list. What we promise is the order of things.
STEP 01
First we see your pet and tell you what we found.
STEP 02
Options and their cost, in plain words, before any treatment.
STEP 03
Only then do we start — and we call you if anything changes.
What changes the cost
NOTE
“The vets and assistants were completely transparent about the costs.”

We found a crying baby animal on the road at 9 pm. We called over 15 vets — all said to leave it. The only one that answered was Hospital Veterinário das Cortes. We arrived after midnight and were received with enormous kindness.
It was a public holiday. Given how serious it was, they gave my dog priority, kept him under watch and then overnight. I called several times during the night and always got an update. They saved my dog's life.
I came in at around 11 pm. Dra. Mafalda was lovely with my dog, explained everything and medicated her in the best way. The next day Dra. Rita was a sweetheart. Thank you for caring about the animals, not just the €€.
They were available on a Sunday to give my dog subcutaneous fluids when another hospital refused. I liked the premises a lot and we were very well received.
They speak with me regularly by phone and message, without appointment they answer my many questions day after day, including overnight when it was an emergency. Bonus is they all speak english with me, and they are not overpriced.
After treatment and several weeks of rest she recovered almost completely. The vets and assistants cared a lot and were completely transparent about the costs.
